BARBARA ORTON – Producer Director

Barbara founded the company in 1994 after the success of her first film, the BAFTA award winning ‘In Cuba They’re Still Dancing’, she was nominated for another BAFTA with ‘Bruce Goes Dancing’. Over the ensuing years she has Directed some and Produced most of the True TV films in the catalogue. She has a professional background in community development work specialising in arts and media, she has served on the board of trade body PACT, and is a current board member of Scottish lobby group ‘Independent Producers Scotland’ (IPS).

MAGGIE MUTCH – PRODUCTION MANAGER

Maggie Mutch is responsible for production managing more hours of television than anyone you know. With a genre-busting CV encompassing all known formats; from small ob docs, to political shows, to spectacular live entertainment events, Maggie has built a career on successful production management. Balancing budgets and still smiling at midnight, if Maggie Mutch can’t get you what you need, then you probably didn’t need it in the first place.

JENNY LANCASTER – PRODUCTION and BUSINESS ACCOUNTANT

Jenny has been working in film finance since the late ’80’s, first with Michael Deeley’s transatlantic company, Consolidated, on classic TV series ‘By The Sword Divided’, ‘Hotshots’, and movie ‘Young Catherine’, the First Choice Productions on TV dramas ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’, ‘Roughnecks’, and Hartswood Films, current makers of Sherlock. Moving to Scotland in 2008, Jenny worked freelance with IWC, and a number of other independent companies. She has worked for True TV for 5 years. In between, she trained as a medical herbalist, and set up a practice, tutoring at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine. Lucky us!

MAGGIE MUTCH

JOANNA MCKINLAY – Production Co-ordinator

Jo studied film and media at Stirling University followed by a masters in London at Goldsmiths in Film production. She cut her teeth as a runner on Midsomer Murders, then moved through the ranks to work for Disney, BBC 3 comedies, BBC live debate shows and feature films. Her formidable skills lie in organising shoots and making sure everyone is on the right train/plane/automobile at the right time, in the right hotel and on set at the right time.

Series Producers, camera crew , AP’s and runners are hired on a project basis from a talent pool of regular and new talent sources. We generally work with a network of specific specialist freelance producers and researchers who have a passion and expertise in their subject.
